We currently only provide a pre-built binary for the 64-bit architecture. Pre-install checklist:

  • You’ll need sudo privileges to the server.
  • You’ll need to install R. We recommend building R from source by following these instructions.
  • Your RStudio Connect server will need access to R packages in a repository. If your server is online you’re all set. If your server is not online, you will need to configure an outbound proxy or set up your own package repository. RStudio Package Manager is a supported option.
  • You will need gdebi

These steps will install RStudio Connect:

$ sudo apt-get install gdebi-core
$ wget https://s3.amazonaws.com/rstudio-connect/rstudio-connect_1.6.10-3_amd64.deb
$ sudo gdebi rstudio-connect_1.6.10-3_amd64.deb
